Bereaved families fight to shut down sites selling deadly DNP "slimming pills" | 5 News

► When 21-year-olds Bethany Shipsey and Vaidotas Gerbutavicius bought some pills on the internet, they were hoping for a bit of help losing weight.

Instead, both suffered terrible reactions to the substance, which was a highly-toxic chemical called DNP, and died.

They bought the pills online, and now their families say more needs to be done to shut down the sites selling them.

It comes as 5 News has learned the number of people dying from taking DNP has reached a 4-year high.
