Creatine Sports Supplement – Gateway to Anabolic Steroid Use?
August 25, 2021
A new study links the use of sports supplements including creatine in young men to a 3x increased likelihood of using anabolic steroids in the future. This was a large study with 12,695 participants and was published in JAMA Pediatrics. Physicians who reviewed it rated it well, and suggested regulating these legal performance enhancing supplements. But use of supplements is just one variable, and causation may not be so clear. In this video I take a look at the data, as well as an alternative to regulating supplements like creatine – educating this population on the consequences of steroid use!
